Germany
Germany has officially recognized dual citizenship as part of its new immigration policy, allowing individuals to retain their original nationality while obtaining a German passport. Applicants who have legally resided in Germany for five years (on student visas, work visas, etc.) can apply for a German passport. Under special circumstances, the required residency period may be reduced to three years, making Germany one of the fastest countries in Europe to grant citizenship. As of 2024, the German passport ranks 3rd globally, granting visa-free access to 192 countries and regions.
