New Zealand


New Zealand attracts people from all over the world with its stunning natural landscapes, exceptional quality of life, and comprehensive social welfare system. Compared to other immigration destinations, New Zealand has relatively low immigration thresholds, and its residents enjoy the same rights as Australian citizens in Australia. In 2024, New Zealand's passport ranks 5th globally, allowing visa-free access to 190 countries and regions.

 

Skilled Migrant Category


There are two pathways for skilled migration in New Zealand:


  1. Independent Skilled Visa – Grants direct permanent residency.

  2. Temporary Residence Visa – A stepping-stone visa leading to permanent residency upon meeting certain conditions.


Independent Skilled Visa


  1. Applicants must be under 55 years old and have no criminal record.

  2. A minimum score of 160 points on the Expression of Interest (EOI) system is required.

  3. No employer sponsorship is needed.

  4. An average IELTS score of 6.5 or above.

  5. Spouses and children under 24 years of age can be included in the application.


Temporary Work Visa


  1. Applicants must be under 55 years old and have no criminal record.

  2. Employment from a local employer is required.

  3. The job must be on the Long-Term Skill Shortage List.

  4. Spouses can apply for work-eligible visas.

  5. The initial visa grants a 30-month temporary residence; permanent residency can be applied for after two years.

 

Investor Category


Eligibility Criteria


  1. No age restrictions and no criminal record.

  2. An average IELTS score of 5 or above.

  3. A minimum investment of NZD 15 million must be made within 3 years, and the investment must be maintained for 48 months.

  4. Investments cannot include real estate or bonds, and only up to 50% can be in stocks.

  5. Applicants must spend at least 117 days in New Zealand annually.

  6. Spouses and children under 24 years of age can be included in the application.

  7. The initial visa grants a 5-year term; permanent residency can be applied for upon meeting the conditions.

 

New Zealand Nurse Migration


New Zealand has long faced a shortage of healthcare professionals and offers two main pathways to attract more nurses:


Registered Nurses


  1. Completing a recognized nursing degree in New Zealand; or

  2. Holding overseas nursing qualifications and passing assessment and registration by the New Zealand Nursing Council.

  3. Obtaining a New Zealand Registered Nurse Certificate.

  4. Listed under the "Green List" Direct Residency category.

  5. Eligible to apply directly for permanent residency upon meeting the requirements.


Specialized Caregivers


  1. Working in specific caregiving roles.

  2. No registered nurse qualification is required, but specific conditions must be met.

  3. Eligible to apply for permanent residency after working in relevant positions for two years.
