Malaysia


In June 2024, the Malaysian government announced new regulations for the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) Program, which is now divided into three tiers: Silver, Gold, and Platinum. These updates adjust the age limits and fixed deposit requirements for applicants, allowing international participants to obtain local residency based on their budget and needs more conveniently. In 2024, the Malaysian passport is ranked 13th globally, granting visa-free access to 182 countries and territories.

 

Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) – Silver Tier


  1. Applicants must be 25 years or older.

  2. A fixed deposit of at least USD 150,000 is required.

  3. After one year, 50% of the deposit can be withdrawn for purposes such as real estate purchases, medical expenses, and education.

  4. The minimum purchase price for real estate is MYR 600,000.

  5. Residency is granted for 5 years and is renewable.

  6. Applicants may bring Spouses and unmarried children under the age of 21.

  7. Children aged 21-34 who are neither employed nor married in Malaysia.

  8. Parents or parents-in-law.

  9. A minimum stay of 90 days per year in Malaysia is required.

 

Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) – Gold Tier


  1. Applicants must be 25 years or older.

  2. A fixed deposit of at least USD 500,000 is required.

  3. After one year, 50% of the deposit can be withdrawn for purposes such as real estate purchases, medical expenses, and education.

  4. The minimum purchase price for real estate is MYR 1,000,000.

  5. Residency is granted for 15 years and is renewable.

  6. Applicants may bring Spouses and unmarried children under the age of 21.

  7. Children aged 21-34 who are neither employed nor married in Malaysia.

  8. Parents or parents-in-law.

  9. A minimum stay of 90 days per year in Malaysia is required.

 

Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) – Platinum Tier


  1. Applicants must be 25 years or older.

  2. A fixed deposit of at least USD 1,000,000 is required.

  3. After one year, 50% of the deposit can be withdrawn for purposes such as real estate purchases, medical expenses, and education.

  4. The minimum purchase price for real estate is MYR 2,000,000.

  5. Residency is granted for 20 years and is renewable.

  6. Applicants may bring Spouses and unmarried children under the age of 21.

  7. Children aged 21-34 who are neither employed nor married in Malaysia.

  8. Parents or parents-in-law.

  9. A minimum stay of 90 days per year in Malaysia is required.
